Overview The historic Rose Farmhouse is an exceptional year-round place to stay and is located within the Gettysburg National Military Park, where it witnessed the Battle of Gettysburg. Beautifully restored and updated in 2025, the house is set back from the roadways and nestled within famous landmarks like Little Round Top and Devil's Den, and near the historic town of Gettysburg. Recreation There are numerous ways to experience the battlefield. Visit the park's Things To Do page to learn about self-guided auto tours, licensed battlefield guided tours, easy paved walking trails as well as unpaved to explore and hike. Trails are available in close proximity to the home.  At the park's visitor center, visitors can marvel at the Gettysburg cyclorama painting, original artifacts, or find their own civil war ancestors. A variety of ranger-led programs are offered throughout the day. Also, Eisenhower National Historic Site is just about five minutes away. It is the only home ever owned by the 34th president. Facilities The Rose Farmhouse offers three bedrooms. A total of 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds and a daybed with trundle; 1.5 bathrooms; fully equipped and updated kitchen with dishes, utensils, Keurig coffee maker, stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator; dining room; and sitting room. Central heating and air conditioning provide comfort year-round. Bed linens, sheets, pillows, and a limited supply of towels are available. Dish soap and dishwasher detergent are provided. Keyless access code provided prior to scheduled arrival. Natural Features The 6,000 acre Gettysburg National Military Park comprises a mosaic of pastoral landscapes and forested knolls, with pockets of dispersed wetland and intermittent streams. The park includes woodlots and forested habitat with mature oak and hickory trees. Springtime brings a variety of wildflowers such as bluebells and violets that cover the landscape with color. From summer to fall, the field and forest floors will come to life with the many species of aster and goldenrod found in the park. Black-eyed susan is abundant throughout the park. Visitors can also see cardinal flowers, a favorite to hummingbirds and distinguishable by its bright scarlet flower. The park is also home to numerous birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. Nearby Attractions Within a short drive, visitors can explore the town of Gettysburg with even more historic sites, quaint shops, and restaurants to please every palate. Throughout Adams County, visitors will find wineries, cider makers, cultural and music festivals, covered bridges, antiques, crafts, and farmers' markets brimming with local apples and other fresh, local produce. About 45 minutes away is Hershey, Pennsylvania which is home to Chocolate World and Hershey Park. And, just 35 minutes from Hershey is Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Dutch country. Charges & Cancellations A $10 cancellation or change fee applies if the reservation is changed or cancelled. Customers who cancel within 14 days before the arrival date will also forfeit the first night's use fee.
